Welcome to the
Blackguard Pages!
The Blackguard was a space
opera written in episodic style from 1983-1988. It has seen
print in various forms as part of the '80s mini-zine rage.
It is a product of its time, written by a
fledgling writer weaned on the creative works of Douglas Adams,
Peter O'Donnell, Frank Herbert, Robert Heinlein, Jules Verne,
Alexander Dumas & Edgar Rice Burroughs to mention but a few.
The stories were a humble attempt to fill a gap in science fiction
writing of the day: a good space opera with a strong female
protagonist. They were
recently unearthed, with pages missing, hopelessly riffled with
other stories wedged in between their leafs. They remain a
testament to the possibility that the '80s weren't as heinous as
originally believed (or may be more sadly only confirmation of that
belief.) But it is with
youthful optimism that the former is true that they are collected,
edited and arranged here for the entertainment of the Reader.
